2005-2006 Season!

We have a very exciting season lined up for 2005-2006! The first show of the season will be in the studio theater. Man of La Mancha will open the year in mid October, followed immediately by The Hobbit on the main stage. There will be two student matinees for The Hobbit and they are filling up fast. Call Rob Vanderloop for details. A Raisin in the Sun will perform in the state one act festival. A twenty minute cutting will tour Southeast Wisconsin and the full length show will be on the mainstage in February. Sweet Charity will be offered in the studio late fall. As a special honor, Bradford Theatre Arts will be premiering the Student Edition of Aida in January. Music Theater International will be working closely with BTA to bring this Disney musical to our stage. Jekyll and Hyde, the musical version of the classic Victorian horror story will play the monastic while A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum plays the studio. Another Disney classic come to life plays the mainstage in spring; Beauty and the Beast. And our final offering will perform at Ruther. Alcestis is a Greek classic about love and sacrifice. This is Euripides earliest surviving work.

And there you have it, our next season! Dates will be posted and season tickets will go on sale soon. We will see you in the theater!

Festival Success

We would like to thank everyone for the support and hard work that they put into taking Sweeney Todd to the International Thespian Festival. What an amazing trip!!
The show was a huge success and Bradford received many compliments not only on our performance, but also on our professionalism and positive attitude.

That's what it's all about! As you all know, we were not allowed to take photos during the show, but here are a few shots of the group during load in.
There are pictures available through official festival photographers, and as soon as those links are available, they will be posted here. Thanks again for all the hard work, and remember, the ball keeps right on rolling. Come support KYPAC as Oliver! takes the stage at Bradford this summer.

Violet a Huge Success!

Our first musical in the studio theater was a fantastic success. Although the space is presenting challenges, the intimate atmosphere contributed to an emotional experience that sold out five out of six shows. The next studio show will be the Spitfire Grill, opening in May.

As our program grows, so too does our audience. Holes opens tonight and runs through the end of April. Shows are at 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday. This excellent adaptation of the award winning book is double cast, so come both weekends and enjoy!

London Suite Opens!

The week back from Spring Break was so busy, it was like we had never taken a vacation! London Suite is open and runs through this evening. Violet opens Wednesday, April 13, in the studio and runs through Sunday, April 17. We have had a lot of fun this week setting up the lighting, video and projection elements that will be used in Violet. The actors tell me the show is emotionally intense, made more so by the close quarters created by the studio theater. Violet, the first musical in the studio, will be an event to experience. Don't miss it! Call 262-653-7401 for ticket information.

Our next main stage production (and the last main stage of the season) is Holes. Based on the award winning book, this fantastic adaptation will open April 21. We look forward to seeing you there!

Welcome!

Welcome to the Bradford Theatre Arts page. The Bradford Theatre program is a public high school theater department that includes students from across the Kenosha Unified School District. Located between Chicago and Milwaukee, we endeavor to produce quality theater for our community and those around us. We include students in grades 9-12 who perform, build scenery, hang and focus lights, assist with sound, stage manage, sing, dance and otherwise work very hard to create art in the public schools.

Our current production is West Side Story (performing March 10-12 at 7:30 and Sunday the 13 at 2pm), followed in early April by Neil Simon's London Suite.

Our recent January production of Sweeney Todd will be performing at the International Thespian Festival in June. We have begun fund raising efforts to help the cast and crew cover costs of the trip. E-mail us if you would like to help. Stay tuned for updates and on line fund raisers!
